It is the nature of trees that they will grow, and they will continue to do so for many years - sometimes hundreds, and occasionally, thousands.

During a tree's life it will become taller and broader. It may encroach on other trees, or cross boundaries. Some branches may become extended and unwieldy or infected by disease. Others may be damaged by parasites and extremes of weather. Left to nature's course, trees can continue to grow untroubled for centuries, but many will demand our attention.

Nicholsons carries out hundreds of Duty of Care inspections every year - examining whole tracts of woodland as well as solitary trees - and passing judgement on the best course of action to take - from nothing at all - passed "fit" - through pruning or reduction, to the final resort (if required) of felling.
