Nicholsons is able to grow crops to a range of specifications.

We are happy simply to grow more of an existing line for you if that is all you require. Otherwise we are always happy to talk to you about any specific crop you may need. Our facilities are geared towards outdoor bed production. Our staff is skilled in any form of tree or hedging work needed, whether it is caning, tipping out, clear stemming etc. We work to high standards of hygiene and crop husbandry. As a nursery we are generous with our spacing of plants allowing good light, air movement and access to crops. Where we can, we like to create the right environment for plants to thrive, and while we do use sprays where necessary, we prefer to keep our chemical use to a minimum.

Over the years we have built up a good range of suppliers for potting stock – the source material for any plant going into a pot or being potted up has to be the best. We passionately believe as a business that plants must be of as a high a quality as possible. We have always been rigorous on grading and quality control – our suppliers, and more importantly our customers, all know this!
Typically our pot size range is from 2 litre up to 30 litre. We can work outside these parameters and would need to discuss this with the client.

Our site is 25 acres, eleven of which are currently under production , but the nursery is always expanding and bed building – so if we don’t have the beds ready you can be sure they will be if the contract were to need it. Currently we grow upwards of 80,000 plants a year.
